Blackwood Dragon Board SUP Race

Mighty Dragon Boards offer a worthy challenge to those who want to get involved in river racing, built for teams of 4, these are stand up paddle boards with a difference. They glide through the water swiftly with the power of 8 arms paddling at once!

Register your Dragon Board race team via Humanitix and take advantage of the professional instructors and boards generously supplied for the day by Perth SUP School.

Race Rules

Competitors must be 10+ years of age and accompanied by an adult if under 18 years old.
Must be able swim 20m.
The course of the race will be determined by race officials on the day to allow for weather and tide conditions and other factors.
Judges decision in all areas is final.
All teams will be given the opportunity to compete in up to three heats throughout the day, prior to 3 finalist teams being announced to race in the final. Heat times are yet to be determined and will be emailed to registered teams in the days prior to the festival. Race final will be held at 3.30pm.

Great prizes for Best Dressed, Best Wipe Out, Best Team Name, and The Ultimate Dragon Slayer. We have it all covered!

The Dragon Boards will be set up from 9am for registered teams to practise before their first heat.

Nicki will also be at the Turner Street Jetty Sunday 26th February – 9am – 12pm with the Dragon Boards for a training session so get your teams registered NOW!

Nicki and the team from Perth SUP School will also be running ‘have a go – Intro to SUP’ sessions. If you’ve never tried stand up paddle boarding before, or if you have, and it didn’t quite go to plan – then book into a FREE workshop to get some valuable tips from the professionals to tweak your technique. These will be on regular sized paddle boards.
